Positive.

- So, the teacher said that we did a good job, but since we didn't give a conclusion, she gave us a 3.8. Is that what she said seriously?

- Unfortunally, yes.

- Oh, come on! She had no reason to lower our rating so much!


Negative.

- Hey Raúl, what did Erick tell you about the laptop?

-Erick told me, "Don't buy that laptop; it's too expensive".

- So, Erick told you not to buy that laptop because it was too expensive. Did I understand correctly?

- Yes, and I think he's right.

- Oh, really? How much does the laptop cost?

- Five hundred dollars.

- What? Erick is right, that's too expensive!

Got (Simple Past):

Have (Present Simple):

  • She doesn't have her car in good condition.


Had (Simple Past):

  • We had a great time on our vacation last summer.
  • He had the opportunity to travel to many different countries.

To Be - Present.

Positive:

Negative:

Not To Be - Present.

Positive:

- Greta loves cats, doesn't she?
- Yes, she do!

Negative:

- Aang doesn't eat meat, does he?
- No, he doesn't.


Present Perfec.

Positive:

1. - They have played ping pong, haven't they?
- Yes, they have.

2. - She has visited Japan, hasn't she?

Modals verbs of ability.

- Yes, of course. What do you need?

Active and Pasive Voice:

Present simple (active):

Present simple (pasive):

- Who usually cleans the office?

- The office is cleaned by the cleaning staff every evening.

 

Present continuous (active):

- What are you doing right now?

- I'm writing a report for work.

Present continuous (pasive):

- Why are the roads blocked?

- The roads are being blocked for a parade that is happening later.

 

Past simple (active):

- Did you watch the game last night?

- Yes, I watched the entire thing. My team won!

 Past simple (pasive):

- Was the package delivered yet?

- Yes, the package was delivered this morning by the postman.

 

Past continuous (active):

- What were you doing when I called you earlier?

- I was taking a shower. I didn't hear the phone ring.

 Past continuous (pasive):

- Why were the students complaining?

- The students were being given a difficult test by the teacher.
